Max Power returns to Scotland

Despite the fuel crisis currently hitting the country, thousands of modified car enthusiasts are expected to turnout this weekend (Sunday 4th May) for one of the biggest events in the petrolhead calendar, Max Power 2008, at Crail Raceway.

The car bible, Max Power, makes an annual trip to the Fife based, Crail Raceway, to view the best of Scotland’s modified cars and their drivers.  The bank holiday weekend car event is the busiest of the season, attracting thousands of visitors from across the UK.

As part of the day’s schedule there will be special stunt performances from Pyromaniac, the famous jet powered quad bike from the Netherlands and world record holder, Dave Coates, who will be appearing on his super bike.

There will also be a unique opportunity for spectators to view a different type of machinery battling it out on the Fife airfield’s famous runways - tank racing, which is a first in the UK.  Additional action will fall from the skies in the form of the Golden Lions, aerial parachute display and drop.

Keeping the crowds entertained throughout the will be entertainment on the main stage, sponsored by Corona. There will also be appearances from Wave 102 presenters, Dave Moran, Charlie Duthie and Cohn O’Dea, along with audience participation, competitions and cash prizes.

As well as the ‘Run What You Brung’ action on the ¼ mile drag strip, which takes place on the mile long runways of the 350 acre, WWII air base, there will be a number of club and trade stands and an indoor marquee with bar.  There will be further entertainment from the burnout and drifting challenge at the drift track.

Meanwhile, the search for the best ‘Show & Shine’ vehicles that Scotland has to offer will continue as part of the day’s schedule. Demo vehicles from major In Car Entertainment (ICE) and performance specialists will also be at the event.

The event also attracts families; therefore there will be a child friendly zone including bouncy castles, inflatable slides and trampolines set up on the day.
