Menu to race for Chevrolet-Elaion

in Argentina

Alain Menu will have a busier season in 2009: alongside taking part in the World Touring Car Championship with the Chevrolet Cruze, the Swiss driver will compete in three events of Argentina’s reputed TC2000 Championship, at the wheel of one of the Vectras of Chevrolet Elaion team.

The TC2000, arguably the most prestigious touring car competition in South America, has always included in its calendar at least one event to be raced on an endurance format, requiring two drivers per car and refueling. This year, the number of the endurance races (300 km) has been brought to three. They will award points for the TC2000 but also constitute a championship, labeled “Copa Endurance”, within the TC2000.

These three events will take place in Termas de Río Hondo (14 June), Buenos Aires (16 August) and Potrero de los Funes (29 November).

Alain Menu will pair with Guillermo Ortelli, while the other driver of the Chevrolet Elaion squad, Christian Ledesma, will partner with young Uruguayan Juan Ignacio Cáceres.

Alain is not new to experiences in the TC2000, as he has already lent his support to Chevrolet’s Argentinean team in five editions of the 200 km of Buenos Aires, winning in 2006 together with Matías Rossi and finishing on the podium on three other occasions.
