Team Rosberg target first win

in FIA GT3 Championship Neustadt, June 12 – Team Rosberg enters the third FIA GT3 Championship race weekend with great momentum. The only German round of the European Championship is on the agenda on June 20 and 21 at Oschersleben. At the same time the third of six events marks the midpoint of the season in the high-calibre championship. The squad under Team Director Arno Zensen recorded its first victory in its début season with the Audi R8 LMS exactly fourteen days before its next race. The Neustadt an der Weinstraße based team’s GT3 sportscar won a race of the ADAC GT Masters at the Hockenheimring with Nicolas Armindo/César Campanico at the wheel. "We’d like to continue where we left off with our winning duo,” explains Arno Zensen. "We have recorded our first victory with the car in the German series, now we aim to scoop the first win for Audi at European level.” The team has already demonstrated its potential here. Armindo/Campanico clinched a brace of third places in the two races at the opening round of the FIA GT3 Championship at Silverstone. They are fourth equal with two other competitors in the standings and are nine points behind the leaders. In addition to the French-Portuguese driver line-up the Czechs Martin Matzke and Jiri Navratil drive another Audi R8 LMS for Team Rosberg. "We’d like both drivers to score their first points of the season at Oschersleben,” defines Zensen for the objective of his second driver pairing. The chances for a good result for Team Rosberg in the Magdeburger Börde region are quite good. The team actually completed its first race with the Audi R8 LMS at Oschersleben in the opening round of the ADAC GT Masters. "We collected valuable data here,” states Arno Zensen. "Since then both the drivers and team have improved their knowledge of the car, which is why we have also increased our own expectations.”On the agenda on both Saturday and Sunday is a one-hour race around the 3.667 kilometre track at Oschersleben which includes a mandatory pit stop and driver.
