Rounds 13 & 14: Loton Park nr Shrewsbury, 13/14 June

Scott Moran took two run-off wins that moved him five points ahead of Martin Groves in the 2009 title chase. Groves took a pair of consolation second places but he and co-driver Paul Ranson were suffering a minor engine electrical defect that that affected their performance but which had been masked by their successful  paddle change gear shift system.

With a brand new paddle shift set-up working well, Trevor Willis scored third place in both run-offs and he now sits in equal third place with Chris Merrick.  Merrick was always on the pace and finished behind Willis in round 13 but Roger Moran got ahead of him in the second run-off. Merrick's co-driver Tom New spun out in round 13 but came back later for sixth place behind his partner as he fulfils his promise in the big capacity car.
