Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup Europe have announced that they will be joining forces with Lotus Cup Italy to support the World Touring Car Championship and Formula 2 in Ferrari's back yard at Imola in September.

Imola is one of the most iconic circuits in the World, having been home to the San Marino Grand Prix and for Lotus fans it will never be forgotten as the venue where the great Ayrton Senna was killed in 1994.

This will be the second event in 2009 that Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club will support WTCC, as they are the only UK support for the World's premier touring car championship at Brands Hatch in July. They are supporting Formula 2 at Brands Hatch in July and Donington Park in August. Heady days for Lotus racing, as the Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup Europe were official support for A1GP earlier this season too.
