Three weddings for Carrera Cup

With a seven-week gap in the schedule for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, three key players in the championship are taking the opportunity of the mid-season break to get married.First down the isle will be current pro-am1 championship leader Robert Lawson, who will marry Charlotte on 27 June. After a honeymoon in Italy, Robert will be back on the family farm in Yorkshire to prepare for the harvest as well as rounds 11 and 12 of the season at Snetterton on 1/2 August.Next to tie the knot will be Team Parker Racing boss Stuart Parker, who will marry Sam Jameson on Friday 10 July in Warwickshire. "We'll have a very short honeymoon, as I've got to go to Indonesia the following weekend to work with Tim Sugden in Carrera Cup Asia," said Parker. The best man for Parker's wedding will be former Carrera Cup champion Barry Horne, who won the title in 2003 with Parker's team. Now working on race weekends as a driver coach and mentor for TPR, Barry will repay the best man role as he previously had Stuart as best man for his own wedding.Third of the Carrera Cup weddings will be when Red Line Racing boss Simon Leonard marries Amy Brown on Saturday 18 July in Yorkshire. Everyone involved in the Carrera Cup GB sends best wishes for the future to all three couples and will expect to see them refreshed and ready for the second half of the season when the championship resumes at Snetterton.
