Superleague Formula, the motorsport series featuring some of the world's biggest soccer teams, has a new title sponsor.
The series, which features cars branded in the colours of famous soccer clubs including Liverpool, FC Porto, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, will be sponsored by African oil company Sonangol.
FC Midtjylland, Olympique Lyonnais and Sporting Clube de Portugal are new entrants in the second season of the series, which has six races and begins this weekend at the famous Magny-Cours track in France.
"We are delighted to be announcing this new relationship with Sonangol which comes on the eve of the start of our second season and will play a major part in the on-going development and growth of Superleague Formula," said Superleague Formula president Alex Andreu. "Sonangol is an ambitious company with global aspirations, so it’s a perfect match for Superleague Formula, which has very similar objectives. Over the next two years we will work closely together to develop both of our brands."Got an opinion on this story? Send your thoughts to comment
