in ADAC GT Masters After Team Rosberg collected its first winner’s trophy in the ADAC GT Masters with the Audi R8 LMS, the Neustadt an der Weinstraße based squad aims to increase its haul of victories in Germany’s top sportscar league. The next opportunity for this occurs on 3-5 July at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz in Klettwitz north of Dresden. Team Rosberg has, punctually to coincide with the half-way point of the season, every reason to be happy at the fourth of seven ADAC GT Masters race weekends: The French-Portuguese duo Nicolas Armindo/César Campaniço has constantly improved their form and recently recorded their best result to date at Hockenheim. The team scored 18 of a maximum 20 points possible after finishing first and second in the two races at the circuit in Baden. "Our team has gelled throughout the season and we knew from the very beginning that we have two strong drivers with César and Nicolas,” analyses Team Boss Arno Zensen. "The two drivers have very different driving styles, which doesn’t make our task any easier. However, we have found a good compromise for them with the set-up of the Audi R8 LMS. César drives rather more defensively and looks after the tyres, while Nicolas in contrast has a much more aggressive driving style.” The duo has mounted the podium three times already this year: In May with second place at Assen, The Netherlands, and more recently with first and second at Hockenheim. With 32 points for Armindo and Campaniço only eight points separate them from current championship leader Christian Abt and six points from his team mate Jan Seyffarth. At the same time Team Rosberg is third in the team championship with 33 points, eight points behind Abt Sportsline and five behind Callaway Competition. "The second-half of the season promises to be very exciting,” says Zensen convinced. The form of the second driver squad is also on the up. The Japanese former Formula 1 driver Sakon Yamamoto and Oliver Mayer from Ingolstadt scored points for the first time in only their third event after finishing eighth in Saturday’s race at Hockenheim. "Things are developing in the right direction,” says Zensen. "They are getting closer and closer to the front runners, even though they suffered because of an accident at Hockenheim. We hope that they have a chance of scoring points again at the EuroSpeedway. Plus we’d like to fight for victory again with César and Nicolas.” The two races at the EuroSpeedway each last 60 minutes including driver change. Entry is free. DSF broadcasts the highlights on 12 July between 19:30 and 20:30 and a repeat on 18 July between 10:15 and 11:15.
