Young Scotsman David Paton is aiming for race glory this weekend at the Scottish round of the Fuchs- Silkolene British
Supersport Championship held at Knockhill on Sunday 5th July.
Paton’s dreams of winning last year’s Supersport race at Knockhill where crushed whilst riding the AIM Yamaha machine as he
was forced to retire due to a problem with the motorbike, but is confident that this year will be different and is happy to
be racing at his home round in front of his Scottish fans.
“I am anxious to see what the weather will do for this weekend, either way I really think I should be up for a good result. I
am also really looking forward to riding around Knockhill again as it has been a year since I was last there. I hope I can
run at the front and would be disappointed to leave without a cup win!” said David
Riding the Team Paramed UK Yamaha R6, David has had several successful performances in the last 3 rounds including a 2nd at
Donington where he returned to British racing fresh from injury, after just 3 rounds David is already up to 5th place in the
Cup standings an impressive feat for 9 months out of racing and a virtually zero budget.
“After having setup problems for the last 3 meetings we are looking forward to being out at our home track as we finally have
a good base setting now and a lot of track knowledge, but the bike is also due for a engine rebuild after this meeting so
sadly this may be our last meeting of the season due to budget and lack of sponsorship” Said Chief Technician Erich
Schonwalder.
