Team Rosberg takes fourth place at the EuroSpeedway Neustadt, 5 July – The fourth ADAC GT Masters race weekend of the season for Team Rosberg ended with an eleventh and fourth place for the French-Portuguese driver duo in the Audi R8 LMS. "Our race weekend didn’t run quite as well as we’d expected," explained Team Boss Arno Zensen. "Which is why we can be still be extremely pleased with fourth place in the second race."Nicolas Armindo and César Campanico had to sit out free practice due to a problem with the fuel pump. "As a result qualifying also didn’t go as hoped with fourth position," summarised Zensen. In the first race Armindo and Campanico were holding fifth place. "They were hot on the heels of the third placed car," explained Zensen. "However, Nicolas Armindo was a little optimistic. He caught up with a group, wanted to overtake but touched a Ford and picked up a puncture in the process. Thanks to this we only finished eleventh and scored no points instead of a possible third place."The second race was also not without drama. "Our pit-stop timer stopped functioning, we couldn’t stop the time and as a consequence didn’t want to run the risk of getting a drive-through penalty," explained Arno Zensen. "Because of this the Ford of Nygaard and Lechner slipped past. César Campanico drove fantastically in the second race, he defended robustly, however, he had no chance against the Corvette and Ascari on the straights today, which is why fourth place isn’t so bad. The team worked excellently and did a damage limitation exercise this weekend."The second Audi R8 LMS driven by the German Oliver Mayer and the Japanese Sakon Yamamoto qualified 15th, retired in the first race due to gearbox problems. In the second race the German-Japanese due claimed 14th position. "In the meantime there are so many young drivers in the field that it is quite difficult for us older ones," explained Oliver Mayer. "When I compare myself with the other drivers of my age the times I’m doing are really okay."
The next ADAC GT Masters is held at the Nürburgring after the summer break on 22/23 August. "We want to hit back then," says a highly motivated Zensen.
