LE MANS WINNERS PEUGEOT BACK IN ACTION ON MOTORS TV Sixteen years after their last win at La Sarthe with the legendary 905, Peugeot finally managed to end ten years of Audi domination by winning the biggest endurance race in the world, the Le Mans 24 Hours, this June.
After claiming victory, Peugeot announced that it would take its 908 back to the United States to make guest appearances in the final two rounds of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), a championship that has been broadcast on Motors TV for many years. Peugeot’s 2009 campaign also began stateside, LIVE on the ‘High Speed Television’ channel, at the 12 Hours of Sebring on 15 March.
On 26 September they’ll be live again on Motors TV as the French manufacturer contest the Petit Le Mans at the Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia. This 1000 mile race (a little over 1600kms) has established itself as an important date on the endurance racing calendar over the past decade. Last year, in what was a thrilling race, the Peugeot 908 finished just five seconds behind the winning Audi after ten hours of racing! This year the French squad will be seeking revenge…
The Petit Le Mans is also an ideal proving ground for those with ambitions for next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours and therefore an important stage for all the teams in the prototype and GT categories to shine.
Watch the Petit Le Mans, Live and Exclusive, on Motors TV on 26 September. Tune in at 4pm for uninterrupted coverage until the final podium celebrations!
Motors TV will also have coverage of the preceding ALMS round at Canadian circuit Mosport on Sunday 6 September.
