Formula BMW Europe made its first ever trip to the 5.148km Nurburgring in Germany this weekend for the fourth round of the championship.

 Fisichella Motor Sport International fielded Doru Sechelariu, Ramon Pineiro and Kevin Gilardoni. The race weekend comprised of a free practice followed by a qualifying session ahead of the two 11-lap races.

The grid positions for race one were determined by each driver's quickest qualifying time, with their second quickest time taken to set the grid for race two. Doru Sechelariu: Qualified in 11th position for race one and 9th for race two. He was put out of the first race and finished 13th in race two. Kevin Gilardoni: Began race one from 21st and race two from 22nd on the grid. Made good progress in race on to cross the line in 15th. Also improved on his grid position in race two, finishing in 16th position, a six place improvement. Ramon Pineiro: Lined up on the eighth row of the grid for both races from 16th. Finished race one in 21st position. Excluded from the results of race two and given a ten place grid penalty for the next race for being deemed by stewards to have forced another competitor off the track. The fifth round of Formula BMW Europe will take place from 24-26 July at the Hungaroring, near Budapest in Hungary.

Paolo Coloni, Team Principal: "It's difficult to know what to say at the moment. We've had a couple of points scoring finishes but I am hopeful that we can have improved results in Hungary. We are having a big problem at the moment with the contamination of the engine oil on all of our cars so our priority at the moment is to establish what is causing this problem and to resolve it. We are working hard to try to understand what the problem is because it is affecting our results. We are in unfortunate circumstances at the moment."
