LAKESIDE have quickly agreed terms with Polish rider Piotr Swiderski aftercaptain Adam Shields was ruled out with a broken collarbone.Shields' crash in the World Cup Race-Off means he faces up to a month out,and the Hammers were keen to sign a replacement.Promoter Jon Cook said: "We have learnt the lessons of the early season injury to Joonas Kylmakorpi when we waited, to the detriment of the team."

BELLE Vue have been granted a 28-day facility for Billy Forsberg who is now back racing in Sweden but is unwilling to return to the UK.The Aces can use guests for the next month and have already booked their former rider Jason Lyons for Monday's clash with Eastbourne.Manager Chris Morton said: "Lyons will partner Ulrich Ostergaard at reserve and I am sure he will do a good job."

SCUNTHORPE have moved to sign Ritchie Hawkins after his recovery from a broken wrist.Hawkins sustained the injury when racing for Sheffield, and his replacement at Owlerton Hugh Skidmore has maintained his place.Adam Allott makes way for Hawkins, and Scorpions boss Rob Godfrey said :"Ritchie has been a seven-point rider, and he is a strong second-string. We had to try to improve our results."
