After two days of competition Martin Groves and Scott Moran finished equal on points at head of the championship both enduring mixed fortunes. Each took a win, there was one non qualification for Groves when he spun in the wet at Val des Terres and Scott Moran scored enough points to draw level. At the Val des Terres Groves equalled the all-time rounds total of the legendary Roy Lane at the hill where he took his first in 2004 and Lane his last in 2003.
Sensation of the weekend was Chris Guile. Unable to enter at Bouley for family reasons he took full benefit of prior experience at his home Val des Terres course and took a maiden win in dreadful wet conditions. He proved this was not a fluke by taking third on a drying track later. His was the first win for a Guernseyman since the days of Andy Priaulx.
