Team Anderson ATV Suzuki proved its potential in round six of the ACU British MMX Championship as Mark Watson took the overall win on his Suzuki LT-R450.
Having been plagued with bad luck and injuries so far this season, the much-deserving rider brought home a first in race one and a second in race two, rewarding the team with its first-ever overall round win.
After powering his LT-R450 off the line in race one, Watson was in third position by the first turn and leading within two laps. After opening an extensive lead on his rivals, he then relaxed into a smooth pace and comfortably claimed the win.
An equally-impressive start in race two saw him up to second position. After following race leader Paul Winrow for a number of laps, Watson took to the front, but after leading the majority of the race, he was held up by a back marker on the last lap, allowing Winrow to pass and take the win. However a great second-placed finish meant he secured the overall round win.
Team mate Carl Bunce secured some good points for his championship standing with a 10th place in race one and an eighth in race two, resulting in ninth overall at the end of the weekend.
Team manager Paul Anderson summed up the weekend: "I am thrilled with the team's performance: We have been building up to this win for a long time and we have proved that we have the set-up to mount a serious challenge. Mark has made a fantastic recovery from his injury and is back on form already."
The team are back in action at Fife, Scotland on August 2nd.
