Gordon Shedden has joined Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing, He will compete from the next round of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Snetterton this weekend, alongside Adam Jones. The 30 year old Scot piloted one of the Dynamics cars at the season opener at Brands Hatch with strong results.
Gordon said of being back in the championship “I was approached by Colin very recently and things have moved fast to this point. I wanted to be part of a team where I know I can make a difference, Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing is in a position right now where it is ready to move forward and I intend to help them do just that. Having raced with SEAT in the first years of the Cupra Championship, and been tormented on track by a SEAT Leon for the last few years in BTCC, it will be good to finally sit in one! We all understand it will be a challenging weekend and I will have to get used to the race characteristics of the car, although there are obvious similarities from what I have driven previously this season.”
Colin Neill Team Principal said of signing the fellow Scot. “Gordon is great guy, I gave him a call and we talked through some ideas and a few days later he is part of the team, it has all happened very quickly. His experience and specific skills will be a great asset to the entire team. The team made the decision to look for another driver based on the commercial downturn and it in no way reflects on Dan’s (Dan Eaves) commitment this year, he has had so much bad luck and limited time on track. We have spoken with him and although disappointed he understands the situation, he has made a significant contribution to the team over the past 18 months or so and will continue to do so.”
