Round 1: Lydden Hill, 5th April David Banks leads leads the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship after the traditional Easter Monday season-opener. This year the event was also a qualifying round of the Belgian Rallycross Championship, in addition to being used by European championship teams a competitive test ahead of their own season kick-off.After starting from pole position British competitor Kevin Procter won the Supercar A final, leading home Dutchman Jos Kuypers and European Rallycross Championship convert Liam Doran.Kuypers chose not to start the Superfinal, leaving Procter and Doran to be joined by reigning Belgian champion Jochen Coox and his compatriot Koen Pauwels, with Binks starting from fifth.Procter and Doran were side-by-side in the first corner of the Superfinal, Doran taking the lead by running around the outside of the first bend. Procter closed on Doran in the latter stages of the race but was denied his chance to regain the lead by a component failure in the driveline of his Ford Focus. Doran thus completed his first event as a Citroën driver by taking the win ahead of Pauwels. In his first event with a fully competitive Supercar, Binks produced a perfect blend of speed and caution, avoiding the day’s incidents and bringing his Ford Fiesta ST home as the highest placed British Championship competitor in third. Results - Superfinal1 Liam Doran, 4m02.019s 2 Koen Pauwels, + 1.09s3 David Binks4 Edwin Geraerts5 Julian Godfrey6 Jamie LeaRound 2: Knockhill, 25th April
