Australia, Gold Medallist to Shine as MINI Challenge Uberstar for QR

The first ever Australian Olympian to win a Winter Gold Medal will race again in warmer climates as Steven Bradbury OAM joins Hertz MINI Challenge – delivered by Pizza Capers as the UberStar driver for round 3 of the series at Queensland Raceway next weekend.

Bradbury will swap speed skates for slicks as he tackles the challenge of MINI racing for the second time as the Pizza Capers UberStar entrant.  Now one of Australia’s most accomplished and popular keynote speakers, Bradbury is no slouch behind the wheel with two years experience in QLD Formula Vee and a stint behind the wheel of a V8 Ute at this year’s Clipsal 500.

Pizza Capers UberStar driver Steven Bradbury said:“Having driven the Pizza Capers UberStar car last year at Symmons Plains in Tassie I was surprised and excited to be asked again so soon.  I love driving race cars and I’m counting down the days until I hit the track at QR.  The experience I gained last year in the MINI, and having driven at QR before, will hopefully enable me to be quite competitive.  I have longer term aspirations in motorsport and driving the UberStar Car is an opportunity that might help me realise those aspirations.”

Round 3 at Queensland Raceway will see a 4-race format next Saturday and Sunday with two practice sessions on Friday. The first competitive lap will take place 09.00am Saturday morning when MINI Challenge competitors take to the paperclip track for qualifying.

Hertz MINI Challenge – delivered by Pizza Capers is the most exciting, premium single-make series in the world. The seven round series runs as an official support category of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.
