KENNETH Bjerre rounded off the perfect week with a bottle of bubbly, a souvenir of his maiden Grand Prix win, an 18-point paid maximum and the Eastof England Showground track record! Stand-in skipper Bjerre led Peterborough to their biggest Elite League win of the season as they demolished champions Wolverhampton 57-36.The tiny Dane, standing in for injured captain Niels-Kristian Iversen was in unstoppable form in a week he will remember for the rest of his life. Laughed Bjerre: "I suppose it wasn't a bad night for me - but the big thing is that we got all three points."

NEWCASTLE will face local rivals Redcar in the next round of the KnockoutCup after beating Scunthorpe over two legs.The Diamonds lost 49-41 at the Eddie Wright Raceway but that was enough togo through 100-80 on aggregate.Team manager George English said: "We were never going to take this meetingfor granted but once Kenni Larsen broke the track record in Heat One we all had a feeling tonight was going to be our night."Kenni, Dakota (North) and Mark (Lemon) rode so brilliantly to grab the wins just when we needed them and win us a deserved clash with Redcar."

LAKESIDE boss Jon Cook hailed the return of Great Britain star Lee Richardson after a superb 53-40 win over leaders Poole.Richardson scored 13+1 in a meeting which saw the Hammers go six-points clear in second place in the Elite League.Said Cook: "We are now a third of the way through the season and to be six-points clear in second spot after beating Poole like that is a great position to be in."The boys all upped their games this weekand Lee's presence has had an immediate positive influence on the club."
