(SPEEDWAY 1)NEWCASTLE boss George English has praised the attitude of both teams after his Diamonds side beat neighbours Redcar 60-33.Rain threatened to scupper the meeting at Newcastle Stadium but the teams wanted to get through to the end and Kenni Larsen notched a maximum for the Diamonds.Said English: "It was a fine match raced in a very sporting atmosphere, particularly when the rain came early on, every one of the riders wanted to get the match back on as soon as the track had been repaired."It was a refreshing situation to be in, and afterwards there was some pretty good racing to watch too with a deserved win for us."(SPEEDWAY 2)INJURED American ace Chris Kerr has had surgery on his broken leg.Kerr has been in the form of his career racing for both Wolves in the Elite and Birmingham in the Premier League.He said: "It's too early to put a date on when I'm going to ride again but, I want to get back and help both Wolves and Birmingham hopefully win something this season."The support of the fans and from my sponsors has been amazing.
