Rounds 3 & 4: Whilton Mill, 14-16 MayAfter a six-week break the MSA British Cadet Kart Championship field reconvened at a bright and blustery Whilton Mill, where Tom Harvey secured a double victory to take the championship lead. Having secured pole position on Saturday, Connor Jupp shared the heat wins with Harvey, Darius Karbaley and James Kellett. However, a late-race retirement in his first heat left Harvey 17th on the grid for the final.Harvey overcame his poor grid slot with a spirited charge through the pack, taking the lead with just four laps to go and then fending off surprise package Karbaley to the flag.Nathan Aston took pole position on Sunday but couldn’t convert his qualifying form into a heat win; Harvey, Rory Cuff, Lando Norris and Callum Ilott shared the honours instead. In the final Cuff, Harvey, Ross Gunn and Max Vaughan all took turns in the lead as the race boiled down to a nine-kart last lap scramble. Harvey started the final tour in front and managed to stay there while Norris and Philip Rawson disputed second. Rawson ultimately prevailed, with Santino Ferrucci fourth and Aston fifth. Results - Saturday1 Tom Harvey – 16m12.36s2 Darius Karbaley +0.03s3 Trevyn Jay Nelson4 Dean Macdonald5 James Kellett6 Ross GunnFastest lap: Gunn 53.01sResults - Sunday1 Tom Harvey – 16m11.45s2 Philip Rawson +0.16s3 Lando Norris4 Santino Ferrucci5 Nathan Aston6 Ross GunnFastest lap: Rawson 53.16sRounds 5 & 6: Glan-Y-Gors, 2-4 July
