Leon Madsen secured the wild card berth for the FIM Dansk Metal Danish Speedway Grand Prix next Saturday (05 June) with a stunning performance in the first round of the Danish Championship Final at Esbjerg.
The 21-year-old beat a host of his nation's international GP riders including current leader of the world championship SGP series Kenneth Bjerre in the Final admitting: "I am overjoyed with this result and the chance to ride at PARKEN is a dream. But I will go there to do my best and show what I can do against the world's very best riders."
Nicolai Klindt, who finished third at Esbjerg, will take the no.17 track reserve jacket, with Patrick Hougaard wearing no.18. It is also confirmed that Russian Rider Emil Sayfutdninov has withdrawn from round four of the SGP Series due to a broken upper left arm and his place at PARKEN, Copenhagen, next Saturday will be taken by Poland's Piotr Protasiewicz (no. 19).
