The Hankook-Farnbacher Racing Team is looking forward to the upcoming 24-hour race in Le Mans with optimism. On June 12th, the team will take the starting line in the Ferrari F430 GTC in the Hankook colour scheme of white, orange and black, with drivers Dominik Farnbacher of Germany, Allan Simonsen of Denmark and Lehman Keen of the United States, participating for the second consecutive time in this classic sports car race famed all over the world. After taking second place in the overall rankings in the Nürburgring 24-hour race, in the “green hell,” in mid-May, the team headed up by Horst Farnbacher has announced its goal of being on the podium at the race in Le Mans as well.
“Since the start of our partnership with Hankook Tire last season, we have made steady progress thanks to our intensive development and testing work. Certainly by the time of this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, we documented that we and our equipment are among the top contenders,” says Horst Farnbacher, head of the Hankook-Farnbacher Racing Team. “We are outstandingly well prepared for the 24-hour race in Le Mans as well,” adds Manfred Sandbichler, head of European motor sport activities at Hankook Tire. “This time, as in the past, we know that we can count on our equipment, and that we have excellent drivers. We will do our best, as always, and hope that we will be able to add another success to our excellent track record without incident”, Manfred Sandbichler continues.
The Hankook-Farnbacher Ferrari F430 GTC is equipped with Hankook Ventus F200 slicks, Ventus Z207 rain tyres and if needed, custom-made intermediates for the respective use. The size mounted to the front axle are 310/650 R 18 and 320/710 R18 on the rear axle, with BBS wheels in 12x18 inch on the front and 13x18 inch at the rear. The team can also choose from various tread compounds designed for each axle positions and specially aligned to the track conditions on the circuit at the 24 Heures du Mans. To maximise the car’s balance with the tyres performance, the front tyres are of a softer compound to the rear tyres. Tyre partner Hankook Tire will provide the team with about 400 tyres at the track.
