NEWCASTLE will defend a 20-point lead at King's Lynn on Tuesday in the second leg of their Premier Trophy semi-final.The holders have been put under pressure ahead of their home leg after a powerful Diamonds performance which featured double-figures for Kenni Larsen (14), Rene Bach (13+1) and Mark Lemon (10+1).Newcastle boss George English said: "20 points is a good margin to defeat these Stars by, but we also are very much aware of what they are capable of down at Saddlebow Road. "They have an awesome record down there and we cannot afford to take them for granted, but we'll be going out hell for leather, that's for sure."(SPEEDWAY 3)RYE House boss John Sampford admitted to mixed emotions after the Rockets defeated Birmingham 54-41 in the first leg of their Premier Trophy semi-final.Sampford feels the Rockets are capable of defending their advantage in Wednesday's second leg at Perry Barr, but he felt the lead should have been bigger after they raced into an early 22-8 lead.He said: "I would have liked more points in the bag to go to Perry Bar with, but we've got what we've got and we have to make do with it. "We seemed to stall when they threw in the Tactical rides. I know it's the same for both sides, and we can do the same thing away if we fall behind, but personally I am not a fan of that facility. But it's there, and we have to use it."(FIXTURES)MONDAY JUNE 21:SKY SPORTS ELITE LEAGUE: Belle Vue v Eastbourne 7.30TUESDAY JUNE 22:PREMIER TROPHY SEMI-FINAL 2nd leg: King's Lynn v Newcastle 7.30WEDNESDAY JUNE 23:PREMIER TROPHY SEMI-FINAL 2nd leg: Birmingham v Rye House 8pm NATIONAL LEAGUE: Bournemouth v Buxton 7.30THURSDAY JUNE 24:SKY SPORTS ELITE LEAGUE: Ipswich v Belle Vue 7.30, Swindon v Eastbourne 7.30 PREMIER LEAGUE: Sheffield v Glasgow 7.45 PREMIER LEAGUE KO CUP: Redcar v Newcastle 7.30
