2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championship

CREAMER AND SUZUKI WIN AMA ATV CHAMPIONSHIP

Josh Creamer and his Rockstar Makita Suzuki QuadRacer R450 have won the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championship after 11 spectacular rounds of racing.

The Connecticut rider won six races in 2010 in his first year on the R450; recorded his first ATV Pro title; and helped Suzuki win the coveted Manufacturer's Cup.

"I knew that once I got on this bike it was a championship winning bike," said Creamer after the race at Loretta Lynn's. "The QuadRacer R450 is by far the best bike I've ever been on. Everything works awesomely and it handles the best. There's a reason it's a Championship-winning bike!"

The final round of the series was an exciting one: Creamer went into the race 40 points ahead of team mate and former Champion Dustin Wimmer, and although he was confident that he would be taking home the big trophy at the end of the race, he still put in a championship-winning effort. After a fast start, he led the opening laps, but a mistake pushed him back and the he decided to play it safe, crossing the finish line in seventh - enough to win the title.

"Winning this is a lifelong ambition of mine and today is a dream come true," said Creamer. "Unfortunately, we couldn't run up front the whole race but we still pulled it off and that was my goal for this weekend."

Creamer made the move to the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team in 2010 and from his first test session he was fast, comfortable and ready to race for the title. Joining defending back-to-back champion Wimmer, Creamer had high expectations for his 2010 season and was looking to dethrone his new team mate from the outset: He was easily the most consistent rider in the series, and with a quad that never failed him, he focused on the Championship, taking over the points lead from Wimmer at Round 3 of the series and never relinquished it for the rest of the series.

This is Creamer's first championship in the Pro class, but it certainly isn't the QuadRacer's first, as it's been on top of the series for the past three years and has also clinched the Manufacturer's Cup trophy for Suzuki on several occasions.

The Suzuki QuadRacer R450 claimed seven overall victories in 2010, making Suzuki the most successful brand in the ATV Motocross series and earning another prestigious award for the QuadRacer R450.

Dustin Wimmer, AMA ATV Motocross champion in 2008 and 2009, came in second for the season. Wimmer claimed one overall victory this year and multiple podium finishes, including his second-placed finish at the Loretta Lynn finale.
