(SPEEDWAY 1)NEWCASTLE star Rene Bach scored a 15-point maximum to help Denmark lift the World Under-21 Team Cup at Rye House on Sunday.Bach's team-mates included Patrick Hougaard, Peter Kildemand and Lasse Bjerre, all of whom ride for British clubs, as they finished 14 points clear of Sweden with holders Poland in third place.Great Britain, hampered by the withdrawal of Tai Woffinden following a crash at Swindon on Thursday, finished fourth with Lewis Bridger top-scoring on 11 points.Denmark boss Jan Staechmann said: "The Poles have had a monopoly on the U-21s, but we had a good team spirit and all the boys dug deep to score their points. "What makes me so pleased is that these guys are the future of Danish Speedway. These are the guys who are going to take over as the senior squad one day, and they worked together so well as a team. They are a great bunch of lads, with a very good camaraderie, which is so encouraging."

(SPEEDWAY 2)LAKESIDE boss Jon Cook is considering his options to replace Jonas Davidsson after the Swedish star was ruled out for the rest of the season.Davidsson suffered a broken thumb whilst representing the Hammers at the Elite League Pairs on Saturday, and he faces at least a month on the sidelines.Lakeside will operate the rider-replacement facility in their crucial home clash with Peterborough on Monday, and will be applying to the BSPA for an emergency 28-day injury change in the hope of bringing in a new rider for their remaining meetings.(SPEEDWAY 3)

NEWCASTLE will go into the final weeks of the campaign without skipper Jason King due to a knee injury.King crashed out at Glasgow last Sunday and will miss out on the Diamonds'attempts to add to their Premier Trophy crown. Newcastle are also still involved in the Knockout Cup and will also be contesting the promotion play-offs.Manager George English said: "With us losing our skipper to a knee injury for the rest of the campaign it means our resources are going to be a little stretched."
