Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship

Pat Doran (Winkleigh) put the finishing touches to the successful defence of his Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship at Blyton on Sunday with a third consecutive event win that puts the title beyond the reach of his rivals with one round of the eight event series still to run.

"I didn't expect to keep the title this year because the British championship has been very competitive; there were five different winners in the first five events," said Doran who attributed his success to his car and team. "I won it through consistency and reliability. Graham [Rodemark, his engineer] did a great job of preparing the car and it has been 100% reliable, all I had to do was sit in it a drive!"

Doran's third event win of the year came in a solid performance during which he set fastest times in each of the first two heats and won the Supercar A final before leading the re-started Superfinal from pole.
