September 12th – Robin Jager Trial, Penrith
Unusually local northern competitors dominated the Robin Jager sporting trial, with Simon Kingsley leading all day, to win his maiden British championship level event following overnight rain. Just three points behind was fellow local Andrew Woodhead, with Cornwall’s Roland Uglow in third. Current MSA championship leader Ian Wright finished fourth ahead of intermediate class winner Andrew Bell who beat his father Ian by just two points. Monty Peters finished top live axle car in seventh, making the long trip from Sussex worthwhile. Stuart Perren won the novice class.
Saturday’s Robin Alexander Sporting trial to be held near Camelford and organised by Camel Vale Motor club will host the third running of the Inter-Association team trial. The Association of South West Motor Clubs won the trophy last year.
