ROUND 4: 9-12 September 2010:
FIA European Finals, Santa Pod RacewayWhile all eyes were on American superstar Melanie Troxel, Sweden’s Adam Flamholc roared to his first major Pro Mod victory in record-setting fashion. With 25 international entries, the penultimate MSA Round 4 was combined with the deciding round of the FIA European Championship, won by another Swede, Johan Lindberg, after a season-long points battle. But it was the less-fancied Flamholc who hit race-winning form, setting a European elapsed-time record of 5.967sec in Sunday’s opening round of eliminations.Melanie Troxel’s Camaro was shut off with a fluid leak in the semi-final, a disappointing end to her dominating presence on this season’s European scene. Britain’s Andy Robinson, still not fully recovered from his July fire in Finland, suffered mechanical problems in a second-round match against Troxel. Robinson carries a healthy MSA points lead into the National Finals in two weeks’ time.Top 5 qualifiers:1. Melanie Troxel: 6.027sec. / 241.22mph2. Adam Flamholc: 6.042 / 236.103.
