Senna Anniversary Helmet Challenge to Celebrate 50 Years

Entries from across the globe compete to be chosen as Bruno Senna’s race helmet design. Now the public will cast its vote.

Over 500 entries have been received for a special competition to celebrate the birth of legendary racing driver, Ayrton Senna, 50 years ago this year. Artists from as far afield as Japan and Costa Rica, South Africa and Norway, have submitted their designs to be considered for a commemorative helmet to be worn by Ayrton’s nephew, Bruno Senna, later in the current Formula One World Championship season.

A panel of judges, including Bruno himself and the designers of Ayrton’s racing helmet, have whittled the entries down to five finalists, coming from Brazil (2), Russia, Spain and France. Now the public will decide the ultimate winner, by voting on Bruno’s website:  brunosenna.com.br. From today until next Sunday, you can cast your vote and help determine which design will be worn by Bruno.

The prize is certainly one money can’t buy. In addition to the thrill of seeing their design worn during an F1 race, the winner will also receive their own replica of the helmet, signed by Bruno, together with a signed photo of the driver proudly wearing the design. The race helmet worn by Bruno will then be auctioned as a prize, with all money raised to be donated to the Ayrton Senna Foundation.
