Big sized Asia Racing Team eager for victories in Zhuhai
This weekend (18th / 19th September) Asia Racing Team will be competing in the fourth round of theAFR Championship on the Zhuhai circuit in China with no less than six drivers. The season is nowentering the home straight and the coming races will be crucial in deciding the outcome.
Leading the Asia Racing Team six cars pack into battle is the championship leader Sandy Stuvik,whose 27-point advantage looks comfortable but is by no means unassailable. After six consecutivessecond-place finishes, the 15 years old Thai is yet to win in the AFR Championship. Stuvik is chasinghis maiden win at the same track he claimed his first ever race in single seaters on April 2010.Tin Sritrai is looking for the first podium finish of his AFR Championship career in this weekend's PanDelta Super Racing Weekend. Son of a famous former Thai rally driver, Sritrai has been missing apodium place since the season started. Now the Khon Kaen born driver has no excuses to not shine inthe Chinese circuit he knows better.
Alongside the Thai duo in the Asia Racing Team garage will be Chi Cong Li, one of the Chinese driverstaking part in the event. The Guangzhou driver, already a race winner in AFR Championship, driverwill be aiming for a return to the podium at Zhuhai, having last sprayed the winner champagne at theZhuhai Circuit in May.
Chengdu and Shanghai race meetings were great experiences for the single seater rookie NaomiZhang Ran. Zhuhai Circuit hosted most of the Beijing born racer training, and she knows she has achance here to bolt from the blue.
Suriya Bala makes a happy return to the Formula Renault and to Zhuhai track where he recorded hisfirst podium in Formula Renault 2.0. The Singaporean racer stormed to two-second place last timeout, and is fired up to add to his tally at Zhuhai.
Last but not least, Luca Ferigutti will return to the cockpit of the #27 “white arrow” after six monthsbreak due to professional commitments. The Swiss Italian driver settled in Hong Kong, who won thesecond race of the Formula Renault Winter Cup non-championship event in April, aims to return tothe podium and has nothing to lose.
Round 7 & 8 of the AFR Championship will take place as part of the Autumn Pan Delta Super RacingFestival at the Zhuhai International Circuit. A field of approaching 16 cars is expected at Zhuhai.
