Triple 8 plans entry into Porsche Carrera Cup GB

Triple Eight Race Engineering is finalising plans to enter the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2011. The team, which has won 20 British Touring Car Championship titles over the last decade, has been keeping an eye on the Carrera Cup GB for some time. Following discussions with Porsche Cars GB and various drivers, the team has decided to enter the Carrera Cup GB in 2011, subject to the allocation of cars.Ian Harrison, Chairman of Triple Eight Race Engineering said: "Our vast experience in British Touring Cars means that we have the technical expertise as well as the knowledge of all the tracks where the Porsche Carrera Cup GB races. We have been looking at entering this series for a while now and with the introduction of the new model 911GT3 Cup car for 2011, we feel that the time is right for us to take part in what is a very competitive championship."Further discussions are currently on-going with several potential drivers to front this assault on the championship and the team hopes to be able to announce more about this exiting new venture before the end of the 2010 season.
