(SPEEDWAY 1)LAKESIDE have announced that Lee Richardson will be staying with the club in2011 - on a full transfer from parent club Swindon. And further business between the clubs will see Peter Ljung also join the Hammers' asset base from the Robins after a successful late-season spell at Purfleet.Richardson said: "It was always my intention to return to Swindon at some time as I have many good friends there and the fans have always been brilliant to me, but I have enjoyed my time at Lakeside so much that this is where I want to ride for the rest of my career."It's close to home so my family can come up and watch, and my main sponsor Hagon Shocks is just down the road. Working with Stuart (Douglas) and Jon(Cook) is great fun and as captain I want to play a full role in helping build winning teams for the fans here in the years ahead. "I wish Swindon every success and thank them for the speed at which they have allowed this to be sorted."(SPEEDWAY 2)

SERIOUSLY injured Berwick star Adrian Rymel has stunned medical staff by taking his first steps since his crash at Edinburgh at the start of the month. There had been initial fears that Rymel had suffered paralysis after suffering severe damage to his spinal cord, but he has now walked over 70 yards around his hospital's gymnasium A Bandits spokesman said: "He has a long, long way to go to regain full mobility. We have to remember Adrian has a broken neck, a splintered shoulder-blade and a broken wrist in addition to his severely-damaged spinal cord - but to see him standing up, and taking these first steps, is just marvellous."It is less than three weeks since his accident, and in the beginning his doctors would not even commit themselves as to whether he would be able to move all his limbs again, let alone get out of his bed and walk."Now the authorities are telling him to slow down, and not take too much out of himself in his sessions in the gym!"
