Hispania Racing driver looking forward to a unique challenge
As the Formula One 2010 race calendar moves out of Europe, Brazilian Bruno Senna is focused on a strong performance at Singapore’s Marina Bay Street Circuit.
The Singapore Grand Prix is a unique, night race through the city. The 5.073 km circuit, which runs anti-clockwise, is tight and bumpy, placing extreme demands on both cars and drivers. Even minor mistakes could be calamitous and Bruno is aware of the need to retain concentration at all times.
"This will be a tough physical challenge, especially in the heat, but I am really looking forward to the Singapore Grand Prix because it’s my first night race and everyone tells me that it is an amazing event. The circuit itself is tight, with walls close in and a lack of run-off areas, and bumpy. The bumps and heavy braking areas mean that the car suspension must be softer than normal to retain as much grip as possible at the many slow, sliding turns.
"All drivers will need to be fully focused, especially in the twisty final sector where the barriers are very close, and ready for a tough physical challenge in hot conditions. I think this can be a successful weekend for the team, where we are competitive with the other new teams and finish the race again."
