Approximately 1100 Minis on Display
And, the forecast looks good
There is lots to do at the MiniWorld Action Day. If you own a Mini then aim for the Camp Corner Gate, marked RED on the roadside signs and park in the Mini only car park area. If you are a Mini enthusiast park anywhere you like, look at the Club displays, wander through the many trade stands, or why not book a ride with the Mighty Mini racers for just £15. You will be rushed around the circuit in some of the fastest Minis about and raise money for a great cause, the Jay Ryles Fund. Jay was recently paralysed in an accident. With a revised display plan there is much to see and do, from the central Club and Trade Site areas in the Paddock. Further Clubs and the main Autojumble area are in the Chippenham Road car park and then the Mini Boot Sale behind Quarry Corner.
For most Mini shows this would be enough, but don’t forget the main reason for hosting the event at a race circuit, is if you own a Mini, then you can take it on to track. A Track Pass is just £35 and don’t worry if you have not ventured on to a race circuit before, at the compulsory safety briefing you will get some hints and tips and then just drive at your own pace as you follow in the tyre tracks of legendary names like Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and several of the current Formula One drivers. It’s a fantastic experience and will leave a lasting memory.
Action on the track is from 09.00 to 17.00, admission on the day is just £10 for an Adult with under 16’s admitted free and a Track Pass is available from the Organisers’ Office in the Strawford Centre for just £35.
