Nicholson McLaren MSA British Hill Climb Championship

Rounds 33 & 34: Loton Park, September 25-26 Martin Groves capped his title winning Nicholson McLaren MSA British Hill Climb Championship season with another win and a new class record at Loton Park. The recently crowned Champion then dropped a bombshell by announcing that he would be taking at least a year’s sabbatical. Citing family and business reasons, Groves announced that he and co-driver Paul Ranson will attempt to sell their four-times Championship-winning Gould GR55b.Groves and Scott Moran took a win each at the weekend, as they have done ever since Craigantlet on the first Saturday of August. None of the top nine Championship positions changed during the final event, though Will Hall moved ahead of Eynon Price in the final run-off of the year to claim tenth and a coveted ‘number’ for 2011.Results - Round 331 Scott Moran (3.5 Gould-NME GR61X) 44.62s FTD2 Martin Groves (3.5 Gould-NME GR55) 44.73s3 Paul Ranson (3.5 Gould-NME GR55) 45.05s4 Trevor Willis (2.8 OMS-Powertec) 45.11s5 Roger Moran (3.5 Gould-NME GR61X) 45.34s6 Chris Merrick (3.5 Gould-Judd GR55) 46.25s7 Deryk Young (4.0 Gould-Judd GR51) 47.04s8 Wallace Menzies (2.65 DJ-Cosworth Firestorm) 47.09s9 Graeme Wight Jr (1.6 GWR-Suzuki Raptor) 47.18s10 Will Hall (1.6 Force-Suzuki PC) 47.35s11 John Chalmers (2.0 Ralt-Cosworth BDG F302) 48.46sDNF John Bradburn (3.5 Gould-Cosworth HB GR55) FailResults - Round 341 Groves 44.73s2 Scott Moran 44.74s3 Willis 44.97s4 Ranson 45.16s5 Roger Moran 45.47s6 Merrick 45.94s7 Menzies 46.67s8 Hall 46.81s9 Eynon Price (1.6 Force-Suzuki PC) 46.91s10 Young 46.94s11 Andy Coley (2.5 Gould-Cosworth GR55) 47.79s12 Ash Mason (4.0 Pilbeam-Judd KV MP97) 51
