(SPEEDWAY 1)SHEFFIELD promoter Neil Machin says his team are riding for their futures when they face Edinburgh in the promotion play-offs on Thursday.The Tigers go into the second leg as clear underdogs after losing 59-31 to the league champions at Armadale on Friday - and Machin was far from happy with that display.He said: "I will be using this meeting to see who wants it, who will respond after a dismal display at Edinburgh in the first leg."I wasn't happy with that, Eric (Boocock) and David (Hoggart) felt the same way, and we have to put the record straight. It could well have an influence on the way we see things and I want to see who has the desire to put things right."

(SPEEDWAY 2)SCUNTHORPE have announced plans to honour club legend Rob Woffinden with a memorial meeting on October 8.Former rider Woffinden, father of GP star Tai, died of cancer aged just 47 in January, and the meeting will be run at National League level with several talented youngsters involved.Promoter Rob Godfrey said: "In Kenny Smith and Rob Woffinden we have two of the sport's great personalities linked to this club and it was so cruel that they died so young. It is great to be able to honour them both over the next few weeks.  "Just like Kenny, Rob was loved by so many in the sport.
