Lloyd de Boltz-Miller broke Myk Prescott's 2008 World 24 Hour Kart Record at 7:36 am today at the Whilton Mill circuit, near Daventry.
With three hours to go, Lloyd had recorded 1153km, breaking Prescott's record of 1152km (for the total 24 hours).
Overnight, he had to contend with heavy rain and water getting into his fuel tank. This necessitated some frantic work by his pit crew - AMT Racing's Ashley Todd and Alan McKay - including a dash to Silverstone to collect fresh petrol from Sunoco, Lloyd's fuel partner.
Lloyd who has put himself through this gruelling challenge for the Wings for Life charity.
