V8 Utes to be televised Live to 39 Countries

Sipping on a latte in Paris, or shearing sheep in New Zealand, it doesn’t matter where you are this weekend, you’ll still be able to tune in to see your favourite Ute driver LIVE at Mount Panorama Bathurst for Round 6 of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series – protected by Armor All this Sunday, 11th October.

Race 2 and 3 will be televised LIVE throughout Australia on Network Seven, while Race 3 will also be televised LIVE on Motors TV in Europe and TV3 in New Zealand.

Motors TV is broadcast into 39 different countries and over 80 territories with a potential audience of nearly 20 million homes. Countries include France, Norway, Germany, Holland, England, Portugal; Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Russia, Slovenia and Austria.

New Zealand’s favourite shearer Chris Pither is also expected to draw a large KIWI crowd to the TV3 television set, as he is expected to be a Bathurst frontrunner in the Ice Break Holden. Pither is the reigning NZ Ute Champ, and is closing in on the Aussie front runners following his first race win at Phillip Island weeks ago.

The V8 Utes will hit the track at 7:25am on Sunday morning right before the Super Cheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Enduro race and SPHERIX’S Bill West Category Manager of the V8 Ute’s couldn’t be happier.

“This is such a great opportunity for the Series to showcase its talent live throughout the world. It comes when we are about to wrap-up our tenth year as a series and its fantastic exposure for our 16 Ford and 16 Holden’s. The Utes are regularly featured on Motors TV in Europe and also TV3 in New Zealand and this is the second time that our international fans will be able to watch the V8 Utes live,” said West.

The Series is in a tight Ford and Holden battle with Western Australian Grant Johnson leading the charge in his Holden VE followed closely behind by Coopers Clear Racing’s Jack Elsegood who will celebrate his 200th Race in Race 2 on Saturday, 10th October.

The V8 Ute Series is Australia’s premier V8 Supercar support category and features 32 Ford and Holden production based V8 Utes, with limited modifications.

Make-A-Wish® Australia is the official charity of Australian V8 Ute Racing who will endeavour to assist the foundation with their mission, which is to “To grant the Wishes of Children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope strength and joy.”
