REDCAR have completed the signing of Aaron Summers in a full transfer from Premier League rivals Edinburgh.Summers' move headlined a busy weekend of activity for the Teesside club, who continued their team re-building with the signings of Adam Roynon and Robert Branford.Promoter Brian Havelock said: "There was quite a scramble for Adam's signature but I was quick out of the blocks when I knew that he was available. As for Robert, it has been a longer game as he was in our sights last season."We also have to thank a number of sponsors who assisted with the purchase of Aaron after seeking an initial loan arrangement became protracted. I can assure Bears fans that other negotiations are being actively pursued to bring more new faces into the squad."

NEWPORT will have a familiar look next season after the club confirmed that six of the seven riders who completed the 2010 campaign are to return.The one change for the Wasps sees Mark Jones promoted from their National League side as Craig Watson is remaining in Australia.Leigh Lanham continues as captain, with Robin Aspegren, Alex Davies, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Legault and Kim Nilsson all back at Queensway Meadows.Club boss Steve Mallett said: "Although we had a lot of riders who wanted to ride for Newport we were conscious of how well this basically young team had improved and we know there is a lot more to come from those five team members who will enter their second full season of racing in British Speedway."They will look up to the more experienced Leigh Lanham and Kyle Legault to continue to lead from the front, and the prospects look good for the Wasps to be able to keep climbing the Premier League table."

ANDREW Tully is targeting an improvement to his average in 2011 after agreeing his deal to remain with Premier League Champions Edinburgh.Tully has played a key role in the Monarchs' championship successes of 2008 and 2010, and he joins skipper Matthew Wethers as a confirmed starter at Armadale.He said: "I'm happy it's all sorted now. I've been involved with the good years we've had recently but Matthew's been there for all three league wins, so that should be a good start to the team. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the team's going to be"One of the reasons my average wasn't better was the number of times I fell and got excluded. If these had all been third places my average would have been quite a lot higher."

SHEFFIELD Tigers have confirmed the signing of Ricky Ashworth who is set to complete a decade with the club.Ashworth, who won the Premier League Pairs title with Josh Auty on a memorable night for the club at Somerset last July, is the fifth of the seven riders in place for the 2011 season at Owlerton.He joins Hugh Skidmore, Josh Auty, Emiliano Sanchez and Simon Lambert for the Sheffield Window Centre-backed side.Club owner Neil Machin said: "Ricky has been a talisman for this club down the years and he is a solid performer, one of the best at this level, and I feel sure he can challenge for top spot in the league averages again."
