SWINDON are assessing their options for their Elite League opener at Belle Vue next Monday after again being forced to postpone a home fixture. The Robins' challenge match clash with Lakeside, scheduled for Thursday, is off for the second week in succession due to the ongoing problems surrounding Polish riders and the new silencers.Co-promoter Gary Patchett said: "Whilst the situation is ongoing and could change on a daily basis we feel it is only fair to our fans to make this decision. We hope and expect the situation to be resolved but we cannot predict any timescale for that to happen."We will go into our league clash at Belle Vue next Monday hopefully with the riders available, if not we will be looking at short term signings and/or making full use of the facilities available to cover their absence."

EDINBURGH No.1 Kevin Wolbert will be mounted on new machinery for the Monarchs' Spring Trophy clash with Glasgow on Friday. The German has impressed on his Elite League level outings for Birmingham so far, but endured a disastrous home meeting for Edinburgh last Friday, scoring just one point.Wolbert said: "I spoke with Kalle (Katajisto) after the meeting about using an engine he has which was specially prepared for Armadale. I will try it on Friday, and if it is good I will buy this engine. Peter Carr has prepared it for the track."The engines I have work at Birmingham and bigger tracks but it seems they are not OK for Armadale. I must score more points for myself and the team."

WORKINGTON have confirmed that Kenny Ingalls will not be fit to start the season for the Comets. The American is still to fully recover from a broken leg sustained in a crash last year, and he is now booked for an operation in early April to have a rod in the leg removed, with a further recovery time of at least 3-4 weeks predicted.Promoter Keith Denham said: "With the Challenge match against Redcar on Thursday looming we have chosen Gary Irving to replace him. Gary went well at press and practice on Saturday and also had a further spell on Sunday with Rich Lawson to improve his gating technique."We will use Thursday to gauge where we are with a replacement for Kenny and take it from there. However, we are still on the lookout for a full 5-point rider to replace Kenny during his injury lay-off."
