Italian Superbikes come LIVE to Motors TV in 2011

Motors TV will extend its coverage of two-wheel motorsport in 2011 with LIVE action from every round of the prestigious Campionato Italiano Velocita (CIV) Italian Superbike Championship. Created in 1911, the CIV celebrates its 100th anniversary this season with an eight-round calendar that visits all of Italy's top circuits, including the iconic Autodromo Nazionale di Monza as well as Misano, Vallelunga and Mugello. As well as the Superbike category, CIV also boasts classes for Moto 2, Supersport, Superstock 1000, Superstock 600 and 125cc machinery, and is traditionally a breeding ground for talent such as multiple Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi as well as stars including Marco Melandri and Lucio Pedercini. Commentary for Motors TV's live coverage will be provided by the experienced Jack Burnicle and former British and World Superbike racer James Haydon. Frederic Viger, Motors TV's Head of Programming and Acquisitions: "Motors TV is delighted to add coverage of the Campionato Italiano Velocita to an already-impressive roster of live championships in 2011. CIV has a proven track record for producing talented motorbike racers and the action is always spectacular. We are committed to bringing our viewers coverage of the best series from around the world and this year our varied coverage of motorsport's myriad disciplines is better than ever before!" Alfredo Mastropasqua, FMI Marketing Director: "We are proud of this fantastic agreement. Motors TV is the main channel for millions of European fans and for CIV this is one more step on the road to really becoming the 'International Tricolore'. The partnership also confirms the growing quality of our championship that will see strong Italian riders on the track as well as a lot of interesting foreign riders." Motors TV, the 'High Speed Television' channel, provides the widest coverage of international motorsport, with exclusive events and more than 80 championships transmitted in 38 countries in Europe and 20 million households subscribing by satellite, cable and ADSL.
