Six into one does go for Vital Equipmen

The company that dispenses the official control fuel for the FIA World Rally Championship and the British Touring Car Championship, Vital Equipment, will demonstrate that six into one does go this weekend. The company will be distributing fuel at six major motorsport events, including Rally Jordan, the fourth round of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship and the second round of the British Touring Car Championship.

With question marks over the situation for Rally Jordan, as the boat transporting essentially the entire WRC now seems to be at least two days late arriving, the fuel itself for the event is already in Jordan, having travelled by sea freight and arriving ten days ago. However, Vital Equipment's dispensing hardware is aboard the ferry, along with the the teams, the TV equipment and all the timing systems.

While this delay will invariably cause significant problems for the teams, Vital Equipment will ensure that it will be operational and ready to dispense fuel within hours of its truck arriving at the Dead Sea service area, regardless of the inevitable revised running of the rally.

But getting to Rally Jordan has actually been just part of the logistical jigsaw for the company, as it is also dispensing fuel to five race and rally meetings the length and breadth of the UK over the weekend, 16/17 April.

For example, it will be dispensing the control fuel at the second round of the British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park, the third round of the BTRDA series the Somerset Stages and also, the third round of the Scottish Rally Championship, the Granite City rally. It will also be attending the second round of the NG Road Racing series for motorbikes at Cadwell Park while at Snetterton, it will be present for the BSA Long Circuit Karting series.

Commenting, Vital Equipment Managing Director Alistair Roberts said; "If I'd printed out every email I've had about getting to Jordan, we'd probably have lost half of Dovey forest! All we can do now is set up as soon as we arrive on-site and hope it all goes ahead.

"I think this is the busiest weekend Vital Equipment has had since we began in 2004. Trying to fit all the pieces of this weekend's jigsaw together was bad enough; once we realised everything that was in place for Jordan would have to change, it moved up a gear - or down, depending on your point of view.

"But we've done all we can now so - fingers crossed - we can relax a little, get on with what we do and make sure we keep motorsport fuelled-up."
