POOLE No.1 Chris Holder secured all three points for his side against Swindon with a fine ride to split the Robins' duo in Heat 15.Scott Nicholls and Maciej Janowski held a 5-1 position but Holder worked his way past the Polish rider to ensure the Pirates' lead on the night was over six points. The home side had earlier lost Christian Hefenbrock after a collision with team-mate Dennis Andersson.Poole promoter Matt Ford said: "Swindon made us work for that but I was pleased with the way the side dug in after we lost Christian."It was a horrible looking fall and initial reports are that we believe he has escaped any serious injury but it was important that he went to the hospital as a precautionary measure."

COVENTRY will be without No.1 rider Hans Andersen for their Easter fixtures at the very least with the Dane suffering a broken foot.Andersen's injury occurred when he fell over a tree branch when out on a training run, and he will definitely miss the Bees' Good Friday clashes with Peterborough.Co-boss Alun Rossiter said: "It's a real blow, and we won't know how serious it is until he's had the operation and we get a clearer indication of how long Hans is likely to be out for."As he's our No.1 we can use guests to replace him, although Friday is a particularly busy day in the Elite League, and we then have a couple of weeks' break before our next fixture to assess our options."

BERWICK star Hynek Stichauer has been declared fit for the weekend Premier League clashes with Workington. The Czech rider suffered a dislocated shoulder last week but will face the Comets, whilst the in-form Adam Roynon has been recruited by the Bandits to guest for injured reserve Tamas Sike.Manager Ian Rae said: "We had thought neither of them would be fit enough to race against Workington in our home-and-away meetings this weekend. But Hynek is a tough wee cookie, and having had several scans and therapy in a Wolverhampton clinic he has declared himself ready to race again in the two matches!"Unlucky Tamas however, who won his first race as a Bandit just before his big crash, won't be signed off by his doctor until after the Easter break."

MILDENHALL boss Robert Henry was delighted to come away from the Norfolk Arena with two points after a thrilling National League draw with local rivals King's Lynn. The home side twice held an eight point lead only for it to be whittled away by the Fen Tigers, who moved level in the last race with a stunning ride by James Brundle to overhaul Darren Mallett.Henry said: "It was a great team performance. I must admit after Jack's (Hargreaves) bike blew up when he was in front I thought it wasn't going to be our night."But the boys dug deep, kept going and James came up trumps again. I think we are proving we can be a match for anyone in the league. Now we just need to keep building on the start we've had. I'm sure we can and I'm sure we will."
