PREMIER League leaders Somerset will be without No.1 rider Travis McGowan for the coming weeks after the Australian sustained a broken wrist on Easter Monday. The 30-year-old crashed in the final race of the Rebels' defeat at Scunthorpe, and promoter Debbie Hancock has already moved to book Jason Doyle and Kevin Doolan to guest in their weekend fixtures. She said: "Obviously this is a cruel blow for Travis as he was just starting to come into a rich vein of form, but given the way he was thrown from his bike and the force with which he subsequently hit the ground, we are thankful that the injury is not a lot worse."Whilst it is going to be a difficult time for us while he recovers, we have booked two top riders as guests for our meetings this weekend, so hopefully Travis' absence will not be too disruptive to the team."

EDINBURGH are set to change both of their reserves in time for their home clash with Scunthorpe on Friday. The Monarchs have released Jay Herne and Ashley Morris, and plan to replace them with former Glasgow skipper Lee Dicken and 17-year-old Kyle Howarth.Promoter John Campbell said: "We have made these changes because unfortunately we have not been getting the points we need from the reserve berth. It is hard because I have a lot of time for both Ashley and Jay - I hoped and expected that they would have done better this year."We know both Kyle and Lee well and we know that they will fit into our setup straight away without a problem. Kyle has shown us what he can do already."
