BIRMINGHAM remain hopeful of seeing skipper Krzystzof Kasprzak back in action at Perry Barr - despite the controversial ban imposed by his Polish club Tarnow. The Brummies' next fixture is against Kasprzak's former club Coventry on Thursday, and boss Graham Drury says there is plenty of dialogue taking place.Drury said: "The BSPA are aware of the situation and the FIM have been on the case, this really cannot be allowed to happen."The door is still open for Krzysztof to return to Birmingham, hopefully next week, but I guess we will have to see what happens. We would like to see him back with us, and hopefully that will happen."

NEWPORT say they are confident of making a major signing in a bid to move clear of the lower reaches of the Premier League table. The Wasps have won just one of their first nine matches, and they saw both of their weekend fixtures, away at Somerset and at home to Scunthorpe, called off due to the weather.General manager Laurence Rogers said: "Our telephone has been red hot and we have scoured every continent for a rider we really believe suitable to help us improve our fortunes."Some of our targets are unavailable whilst others are injured. However, the one we want is a huge player and I am confident that we will get our man."
