UAP Inc subsidiary Napa Auto Parts has announced its sponsorship of Pastrana-Waltrip Racing's Canadian driver Patrick Carpentier at the Nascar Nationwide Series race in Montreal on 20th August.
The North American automotive parts chain will serve as the primary sponsor of Carpentier's number 99 car in his fifth appearance at Canada's only Nationwide Series event, this year officially known as the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge.
Carpentier, a native of Quebec, has a good track record at the 2.71-mile track, winning pole for the race in 2007 and finishing second in 2008 and 2009.
“This is the most important race of the year for me,” said the 39-year-old Carpentier. “We’ve been so close in Montreal and I think this year we have as good of a shot as anyone. I’ve said many times that winning in Montreal would definitely be a highlight in my career.”
Robert Hattem, president and chief operating officer of UAP Inc, added, “Patrick Carpentier is a driver with whom Napa can easily identify: he is determined, dynamic and ambitious. We are very proud to have Patrick behind the wheel of our Napa car again this year. We are confident that the Waltrip-Pastrana and Carpentier team has many great surprises in store for us."
Although financial details of the arrangement were not released, typically primary sponsorship of a Nascar Nationwide Series car is worth US$250,000 per race
