SWINDON made it six points in two nights by becoming the first visiting team to win at Coventry in over a year.Early-season signing Nicolai Klindt was the Robins’ hero at Brandon as he won both crucial Heats 13 and 15, whilst reserve Cory Gathercole weighed in with ten points as the Robins made it a quickfire double over the Bees.Swindon boss Ronnie Russell said: “I’m delighted with that result, it could have been all four points but for Scott’s (Nicholls) blown engine but it’s still a great night for us.“We’ve had so many things go against us this season so I think everyone deserves a night like this one, and the points from this week have given us a real lift.”

RYE House collected all four points from their Premier League trip to Plymouth thanks to a 51-39 win – despite a maximum from home star Ben Barker. The Rockets proved to be the stronger all-round side with the recently returned Steve Boxall top-scoring on 12 points and skipper Chris Neath and reserve Nelson both being paid for 13.Team boss John Sampford said: “To gain four match points away at any track is a great achievement. This was also an important result to drive us into the second half of the season. “In fairness, Ben Barker was untouchable and Jesper Kristiansen was also impressive, but we banded together as a team to score points across the board, and that’s what got us the win.”

SCUNTHORPE produced another late show at the Eddie Wright Raceway, this time to get the better of local rivals Sheffield in a dramatic Premier League clash. The Tigers, who have a great record at the Scorpions’ home, led by eight points at the halfway stage but the deficit was reduced to two, and both Sheffield riders Ricky Ashworth and Richard Hall were then disqualified from Heat 15 after falling – leaving Scunthorpe 46-43 winners.Scorpions boss Richard Hollingsworth said: “Sheffield are a top team and their riders are so strong on our track I’d have probably settled for two league points before the start. People will say we were lucky but we fought hard and when the pressure was on in Heat 15 it was Tero (Aarnio) and Ben (Wilson) who came through. “Early on it looked like Ricky Ashworth might have it in the bag for Sheffield but he had a big crash and thankfully he was able to walk away from it.”

DAVID Stachyra has quit Belle Vue after a nightmare run of form since his return to Elite League racing.Stachyra failed to score at King's Lynn on Wednesday which proved to be thefinal straw in his bid to re-capture the form he showed with Ipswich in thelast two seasons.Aces boss Jim Lynch said: "We had a phone conversation about his run of poor form and Dawid said that he had decided to resign both for financial reasonsas well as his continued lack of success."David's performances were not what we expected when we signed him. It just wasn't working but it is sad because as a person he was very good to deal with and we wish him all the best for the future."

COVENTRY boss Alun Rossiter has paid tribute to Australian great LeighAdams, who was seriously injured in an off-road event earlier this week.Rossiter worked with Adams in both his riding and managerial career, with Adams captaining his Swindon teams from 2004-09 before Rossiter moved to Brandon. He said: "It was absolutely horrendous to hear about what's happened to a good friend of mine, and it's amazing to think that he went through a speedway career of over 20 years with no major injuries and then this happens."What I will say is that I know Leigh very well, I know what a strong character he is, and he will turn this into a positive at some stage. He has great support from his wife and his kids, they are a strong family and although it might take a while and it won't be easy, he will be positive and they will all move forward
