RUSSIAN racer Renat Gafurov was the Poole hero as a depleted Pirates side pulled off a shock win at Belle Vue.Gafurov collected a 12-point haul at reserve and No.1 Chris Holder won three of the last five races as Poole, without Darcy Ward, Davey Watt and Christian Hefenbrock, came from 27-33 down to win 46-44.Promoter Matt Ford said: "Renat will be a happy lad when he gets home as he rode well tonight. We needed that robustness as we were without Darcy and Davey."It was going to be difficult up there but Middlo (Neil Middleditch) kept the boys focussed and they delivered. I am pleased with that result."

NEWCASTLE No.1 Mark Lemon faces another month on the sidelines after being told he has another collarbone break - without suffering a crash! The Australian has been told the pressure and stress placed on the collarbone in the area of a previously-inserted plate has caused a fresh break to appear.Diamonds boss George English said: "This is yet another blow for Mark, and for the team. In the short-term, we'll have to use guests to cover for his absence, and of course this week that task is made even harder by the fact we have three matches in four days."I've never heard of a break re-breaking with no crashing before and I can only wish Lemo the best of luck and hope for as early a come back as possible."
