Monteiro will be trying out the SEAT León 1.6L engine at Brno

Tiago Monteiro will be driving the SEAT León 1.6L  turbo engine for thefirst time in competition during the next two races of the World Touring CarChampionship FIA WTCC to be held next weekend in Brno, Czech Republic.

On a circuit which is traditionally not very favorable to SEAT, Tiago hopesto bring home points in each race and continue developing the SEAT, drivenby the 1.6 liter turbo engine. "I am motivated and happy to finally be ableto get behind the wheel of the car driven by the new engine. It has a hugepotential. The team has worked with it this week on the track and managed tomake progress with it both in terms of performance and reliability. So wewill take advantage of these two races in Brno to test it in competition,"Tiago declared, "We know that this circuit is generally tough for SEAT andso our ambitions will be limited."

Less than a week after participating in the Le Mans 24 Hours, the circuitmarathon runner has gotten over his fatigue and is totally focused on theWTCC, where he is in fifth place in the overall ranking. "Despite thedifficulties encountered in the first races, the results pleasantlysurprised us. We are going to continue working with the same diligence anddetermination in order to strengthen the competitiveness of SEAT andSun-Red, as well as our positions in both championships," concluded thedriver of the #18 car.
